Titans vs Falcons

The Titans look to rebound from last week’s opening loss to the Royse City Bulldogs. The Lake Dallas Falcons roll into Toyota Stadium looking to building on their opening night victory over fellow Titans district mate Denton High. This will be the 13th meeting between the Titans and the Falcons with Lake Dallas holding a 10-2 advantage including four victories in a row.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS
Head Coach: Michael Young
District: 7-5AD DIV II
Record: 1-0

Thursday, October 1st
Site: Toyota Stadium
Time: 7:00 Kickoff

The Falcons return 3 starters on offense and 5 starters on defense from 2019.

Offensively, the Falcons return strong armed quarterback Trevor Moon (6’1”, 190). Moon completed 6 of 11 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in last week’s victory over Denton. Moon also led the Falcons rushing attack with 62 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown versus the Broncos. The offensive line will be led by Jackson Berry (6’2”, 220), Trey Wilemon, AJ Shields, and Julian Bettancourt.

Defensively the Falcons are expecting to be strong in the backend of the defense with Josef Taylor (5’11”, 160, 4.5) and Kelan Ferguson patrolling the secondary. Linebackers Patrick Wenger (5’11”, 190) and Logan Puckett (5’11”, 190) will be playmakers for the aggressive Falcon scheme.

The Falcons return one of the top kickers in the area in Anthony Patti. Patti gives the Falcons a weapon in the special teams part of the game with his strong leg on kick-off and field goals.

From Coach Webb
“The Falcons have been one of our oldest rivals since CHS opened. The games are always very competitive, and the Falcons have done an outstanding job dominating the overall series by particularly playing well in the fourth quarter. Coach Young and his staff do an excellent job of adapting their offensive skills to match their team’s talent. Defensively, they are aggressive and well coached. They will not beat themselves on defense by being out of position or having blown assignments. We will need to improve in all 3 phases from week one and play our best to have an opportunity to defeat the Falcons. They are going to challenge for a play-off spot in their district and it will be another great challenge for the Titans”
